Louise Jean Wilson, a young girl of just 17, was driving on her day off to see the sunrise in Galveston, accompanied by her boyfriend and another friend when a violent confrontation involving a traffic dispute began on December 10, according to the Houston Police.
The police provided information that Wilson swerved from the suspect’s four-door sedan to avoid an accident, and after cutting him off in traffic and passing beside the car, the shooter fatally opened fire in response and fired a gunshot.
The incident took place in Texas, on an interstate highway. Despite being seriously injured, the young woman safely guided her car off the road to save her friends from the gunfire and to prevent others from getting involved.
Wilson had graduated from high school in May, and she was just a step away from earning her diploma. She died on the scene after the heroic act and saved the lives of her two passengers minutes before her death. The suspect has not yet been found by the police.
