A new agreement between Airbus and Amazon promises to bring high-quality internet via the Kuiper satellite constellation to the manufacturer’s new aircraft.

Airbus and Amazon have signed a provisional agreement to bring better internet connectivity to the aircraft of one of the world’s largest airplane manufacturers.

According to the provisional agreement, new Airbus planes will access the internet through Jeff Bezos’ Kuiper satellite system. The network also aims to bring internet service to other parts of the world.

The partnership seeks to offer faster and more secure wi-fi for passengers, enhancing the High Bandwidth Connectivity Plus program, which improves onboard connectivity during flights.

Amazon intends to make this service available to all airlines operating Airbus aircraft.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways announced it is in the final stages of its project to modernize its Boeing 777 fleet. The project includes wi-fi provided by Elon Musk’s Starlink.

The company stated that the same system will be installed on its Airbus A350 aircraft. Installation is expected to begin in April 2025.

“We are just a few aircraft away from completing the modernization of our entire Boeing 777 fleet with Starlink connectivity,” said Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways Group.
