A study by RAC revealed that about a quarter of UK drivers avoid driving at night.
According to a survey conducted by the RAC, about 23% of UK drivers reported that they avoid driving at night due to the discomfort caused by overly bright headlights.
Many drivers mentioned having difficulty seeing and maintaining comfort during trips because of the headlights of cars driving in the opposite direction.
The RAC states that 61% of drivers believe the problem has worsened in recent years, making them feel less safe driving at night.

The issue has affected drivers of all ages. 38% of people over 74 years old are reducing their night driving, and 33% of drivers under 35 years old are also avoiding the roads during the darker hours.
Data from the UK Department for Transport (DfT) shows that since 2013, the cause of 280 accidents has been attributed to headlight glare.
The increased intensity of headlights in modern vehicles is due to the use of bi-xenon and LED bulbs, which provide a stronger beam of light. The strong glare from these lights is the cause of discomfort, according to the RAC.
