Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin and well-known billionaire, suffered a serious bicycle accident in ‘Virgin Gorda,’ leaving him with shocking injuries.
The 73-year-old businessman was cycling when he fell into a hole, resulting in an unexpected fall from his bicycle. Branson, who co-founded the Virgin Group in 1970, reported suffering severe cuts on his elbow and a considerable hematoma on his hip.
The tycoon took to Instagram to share images of his injuries. In his post, Branson detailed the incident: “Took a big tumble while cycling in Virgin Gorda a short while ago! Hit a hole and fell hard, resulting in another hematoma on the hip and a nasty cut on the elbow, but surprisingly nothing broken.”
Branson was accompanied by Alex Wilson, who also fell right behind him, but fortunately did not suffer serious injuries. Commenting on the accident, Branson expressed his gratitude for staying active and healthy despite the scare. “I’m counting myself very lucky and grateful for staying active and healthy. After all, the brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all!” he said in his post.
