A 40-year-old suspect had his hair cut by Colombian police in Cartagena after they discovered he was carrying more than 220 cocaine pills hidden in a wig.
He was intercepted by the Anti-Narcotics Police while attempting to board a flight to Amsterdam on February 20. Authorities estimated the drug load was worth $10,000.
“Thanks to the expertise of National Police agents, through surveillance and passenger profiling, it was possible to seize 19 cocaine capsules, camouflaged in a wig the individual was wearing,” the police said in a statement.
Colombian police reported that the suspect has two prior drug trafficking convictions.
According to Brigadier General Gelver Yecid Peña Araque, commander of the Cartagena Metropolitan Police, more than 450 people have been arrested for drug trafficking in 2025 alone.
