Trevor Hughes, a DJ and father of four, was shot dead following a traffic dispute in the Bronx, New York. His girlfriend was brutally assaulted during the incident.
In the early hours of Sunday (16), a DJ and father of four named Trevor Hughes, 49, was shot and killed during a traffic dispute with a stranger who was parked in front of his home.
Hughes’ girlfriend was also brutally assaulted during the altercation.
The victim was arguing with Lavar Davis, 46, who was blocking the driveway of the family man, according to authorities. The DJ had just arrived home from work when he saw the car in front of his house.
“He took all the right steps to remove a car that was blocking his driveway. A police patrol car came, and all they had to do was ticket the vehicle,” said Hughes’ brother.
A security camera from neighbor Rose Marie captured part of the confrontation. “The guy said, ‘What’s up? You want me to take it out? I’ll take (the gun) out for you,’ and then, boom, boom, boom,” she reported. Hughes was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to prosecutors in the case, the attacker fled the scene but was later found by police at his girlfriend’s apartment. Davis had already served 24 years for homicide. He was on parole.
The perpetrator was arrested on Sunday (16) without bail.
