AI-generated audios mimicking the voices of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are being played at traffic lights at intersections in California, USA.
Viral videos show shocked pedestrians as traffic signals play AI-generated voices mimicking Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. The footage was recorded in Palo Alto, California.
“I’m so lonely,” repeats an imitation of Musk.
“Hi, this is Elon Musk. Welcome to Palo Alto, home of Tesla engineering. They say money can’t buy happiness, and okay, I guess that’s true. God knows I’ve tried. But it can buy a Cybertruck, and that’s pretty cool, right?” continued the voice.
“Hi, I’m Elon. Can we be friends? Do you want to be my friend? I’ll give you a Cybertruck, I promise. Look, you have no idea how far I would degrade myself for a crumb of approval,” said the fake Elon Musk.
Mark Zuckerberg also tried to connect with pedestrians, but his imitation was a little deeper.

“It’s normal to feel uncomfortable or even violated as we force AI into every, every facet of your conscious experience,” Zuckerberg warned.
A spokesperson for the city of Palo Alto told Palo Alto Online that city employees “determined that 12 intersections in the downtown area were affected” by the AI imitations.
The voice features were disabled for maintenance.
