A Florida police officer identified as Tristan Macomber was caught in a body camera video crashing into the rear of another car while driving and watching an adult content video.
The footage shows Officer Macomber hitting the other vehicle and triggering the airbags. He gets out of the car to check on the driver and tries to explain himself. “Hello, ma’am. Are you okay? I’m sorry, my brakes failed,” he lied.
The investigation revealed that he was watching adult content, which led to the accident. Macomber tried to justify himself by claiming he was chatting with friends.
The Internal Affairs report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Macomber “admitted to lying” before finally confessing that he was “watching adult material on his personal phone shortly before the accident.”
Tristan Macomber resigned from his position in the police after lying, using an electronic device inappropriately, and not wearing his seatbelt.
