A former Emirates flight attendant shared in an interview why she and her colleagues were “required” to spy on flight passengers.

Marika Mikusova, a former Emirates flight attendant who worked for the airline for five years, revealed to the Daily Mail that she and her colleagues were instructed to “spy” on first-class passengers.

“The business-class seats are open, so there’s no need for this kind of special, albeit invasive, privacy treatment,” explained Mikusova, who stated that they were required to conduct the “spying” every 30 minutes to ensure passengers were alive.

“Flight attendants are generally instructed to stay alert and aware of what’s happening in the cabins throughout the flight,” she said.

The former flight attendant explained that the crew constantly monitors passengers during the flight to prevent any unforeseen emergencies.

Mikusova has published a book series called “Diary of a Flight Attendant,” where she shares stories and moments from her career at Emirates.

She recounted one incident where she had to interrupt a couple engaging in intense affection near the airplane’s galley. “We had to intervene and send them back to their seats. After that, we discreetly kept an eye on them,” she shared.
