A hiker stranded on a cliff along the Pacific Crest Trail in California was rescued by Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies with the aid of a helicopter.

The rescue was captured from a first-person perspective. The video shows a rescuer descending on a cable to reach the hiker, who was visibly trembling from exhaustion.

“He simply couldn’t risk asking her to lift her arms, which were tightly gripping the cliff, to put on the rescue harness,” the post continued.

The rescuer embraced the hiker so the helicopter could safely lift them both to the top of the cliff. The rescue was successfully completed, and the hiker sustained only a few scratches on her legs.
