The accident occurred on October 12, when Paiva was riding a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend, a retired military man named Uilblim do Espírito Santo, as reported by the Rio press.
They were driving in the Campo Grande neighborhood when a van reportedly made an illegal turn at an intersection, hitting the couple head-on and tearing off the motorcycle’s handlebars.

After the collision, the van driver fled the scene without providing assistance. The police are investigating the incident.

Although Uilblim was initially lucid and able to speak with the paramedics, he died just four hours after being taken to the hospital.

Paiva was also transported to the emergency room in critical condition, where doctors placed her in an induced coma.

On October 17, her aunt, Laísse Paiva, posted a publication on her Instagram stories, stating that her niece’s condition was improving.

“They say that prayer cannot be thanked, but I am here to express my immense gratitude for the enormous affection for our dear one and the great support network that has formed around her recovery. She continues to fight for her life,” wrote the hopeful relative, according to local media. “We decided to share the news based on what we received. We cannot delve into details, but Alana is our miracle. The most important thing is to know that she is progressing, receiving the necessary care, and even though it is a gradual process, we must not lose faith.”

Despite the doctors’ efforts, Alana passed away, ten days after the accident. She was buried at Jardim da Saudade Cemetery in Paciência.
