Two people were injured in a lake in Brazil after a jet-ski hit a boat at high speed in an incident of reckless boating.
On February 23rd, a jet-ski collided with a boat on Lake Paranoá, in Brasília, leaving two people injured after the reckless navigation incident.
The footage of the accident, which occurred in the capital of Brazil, was shared by a kitesurfing association. The video shows the jet-ski overtaking another vessel at high speed before violently striking the boat.
The victims were two young individuals, one of whom was a 12-year-old teenager. One of them required medical attention due to a deep cut on the head.
The association responsible urged pilots to be more mindful when operating motorized vessels.
“The footage of the accident shows that the jet-ski operator had sufficient time and visibility to avoid the collision but continued toward the young people, causing the impact,” the association shared on Instagram.
“Lake Paranoá is a shared space for bathers, sportspeople, and vessels, and the safety of all must be a priority,” the organization emphasized.
