On Monday (April 21), the engine of Delta Air Lines flight 1213 caught fire minutes before takeoff to Atlanta, Georgia. The flight had 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots, all of whom were evacuated.
Everyone was evacuated using emergency slides.
“Delta’s flight crews followed procedures to evacuate the passenger cabin when flames were observed coming from one of the aircraft’s two engines,” the airline said in a statement.


Orlando International Airport reported that the flames were contained and extinguished.
According to Delta’s statement, the company is working to ensure that passengers reach their final destination.
