A man from Pennsylvania was caught with a live turtle inside his pants while passing through security at Newark Airport.
A Pennsylvania traveler was caught at Newark Airport with a live turtle inside his pants last Friday (7). At the time of the discovery, the man was going through airport security.
As he passed through the body scanner, the alarm went off, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents conducted a search. They found the 12-centimeter animal wrapped in a towel.
The reptile was a red-eared slider turtle and was confiscated by Port Authority Police.

It is unclear whether the man will face charges or penalties for the incident.
Thomas Carter, the TSA Federal Security Director in New Jersey, stated that it might be “the first time we’ve encountered someone hiding a live animal in the front of their pants.”
“As far as we could tell, the turtle was not harmed by the man’s actions,” he added.
