A driver was arrested after allegedly attempting to intentionally run a Tesla off the road at over 100 mph in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Oscar Fayani was arrested on Friday (18) after Utah State Highway Patrol officers reported he drove at over 100 mph towards a Tesla. The driver was charged with reckless driving.

Highway patrol officers were alerted to a road rage incident involving a golden sedan chasing a black Tesla at speeds between 115 and 120 mph, according to the police report.

“The Tesla driver was attempting to distance himself from the golden sedan, which began following him,” the document states, citing witnesses.

The Tesla driver admitted to exceeding 100 mph in an effort to escape the pursuing vehicle. He tried to exit the highway to evade the sedan, but it was ineffective.

“Upon re-entering the highway, the golden sedan was waiting for him,” according to the report. “The Tesla driver claimed the suspect intentionally swerved into his lane to force him off the road,” the bulletin noted.

As other vehicles tried to pass the golden sedan, “the suspect vehicle cut them off, nearly causing collisions,” the police report added.

Officers discovered that Fayani’s license was suspended and that he was carrying two bags containing a white substance resembling methamphetamine and cocaine.

He is being investigated for aggravated assault, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.
