Sandy Hawkins Combs was flying back home to Denver, USA, on a United Airlines flight when she was surprised to discover that football player Travis Hunter was sitting next to her.
In a Facebook post, Combs revealed that Travis Hunter, a cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was her seatmate on the United Airlines flight. She met the football star on May 10.
“I turned and asked, ‘Who am I sitting with?’ I looked at the Jaguars pants, smiled, and asked, ‘Are you an athlete?’ He smiled and said, ‘I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags,'” the woman wrote.
The passenger was touched by Travis’ kindness. “I’d be proud to have him as a grandson,” she shared in her post.
Combs only realized he was famous after noticing several passengers taking photos with the player.
“He’s so humble and down-to-earth. I never would have guessed he was a professional athlete. Jacksonville Jags, you did great! I’m buying tickets,” she said excitedly.
