Videos from passengers aboard the Queen Anne, a Cunard cruise ship, went viral on TikTok after the company issued sound alerts notifying passengers that the ship had entered waters notorious for piracy in Southeast Asia.
Travelers were instructed to turn off all cabin lights, close the curtains and doors. They were also advised not to appear on open decks or windows.
The Queen Anne was passing through the Pacific Ocean on its way to the Philippines. The video capturing the moment the alert was issued has already accumulated over 9 million views.
The ship was on its inaugural 111-night around-the-world voyage.

“This area is known for piracy threats. No guest will have access during this time while we are crossing,” said Queen Anne’s captain, Inger Klein, in the announcement.
“The outdoor promenade deck will be closed on both sides from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between the night of March 14 and 15,” she continued. Fire hoses were installed to ward off possible intruders.
