Influencer and comedian Jamie Pappas went to TikTok to share how a Chefs’ Warehouse truck wrecked her parked car and how the company took a long time to resolve the issue.
“This is my car, probably wondering how it ended up there, right? Okay, a cautionary tale,” she began. Pappas said the incident happened while she was at work on July 20.
The video recorded by a security camera shows the truck hitting the vehicle and ripping off the bumper. The comedian said the owner of a nearby restaurant offered her a free dinner to make up for the inconvenience.
Neighbors and employees of nearby stores left a note on the car informing her of what had happened.
Even though she had insurance, Pappas contacted Chefs’ Warehouse directly to resolve the matter, but the comedian did not expect the situation to drag on for so long.
“I didn’t hear back from the person who could help me for four business days,” said Pappas, who had to miss work to try to resolve the issue. With each call she was “just pushed further along.”

She managed to get in touch with the company’s insurance representatives six days after the incident. “I don’t know what you want me to say. I don’t sign checks for headaches,” he replied, according to Pappas.
Pappas says she finally got her car back on August 12, more than three weeks after the accident. The company ended up covering the car damage and reimbursed her for the rideshare expenses she had to use.
“Chefs’ Warehouse needs to improve its customer service if they’re going to do something this serious,” the comedian concluded.
@jamieamaleapappas Can I get a @Chef Reactions to this? 😂 I called every company number I could and only received full voicemail boxes. No one had answers for me. No one could tell me what my next steps were, I was just told to wait because “insurance takes a while” Mine didn’t though. I am grateful I am safe and everyone was okay. I am so grateful for the neighborhood of East Passyunk taking care of me in this time. Everyone looking out for me. My biggest takeaway is how important community is and I appreciate everyone so much! Thank you. My month without my car is over #gobirds #chefswarehouse #southphilly ♬ original sound – Jamie Pappas
