Katlyn Wray, 28, was responsible for leading the Metropolitan Nashville Police on a 4-hour chase while fleeing at 11 km/h in a stolen car.
A video shows several police vehicles lined up behind the stolen Nissan Altima. The chase began when Nashville officers found Wray sleeping at the wheel at 3 a.m.
The officers approached the vehicle as the fugitive woke up just in time to shift into reverse to escape. She drove over spike strips set up by the police but continued to flee with flat tires.
She reached speeds between 11 and 24 km/h.
Several police vehicles and helicopters were dispatched to follow Wray, who refused to stop even at very low speeds.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol used a PIT maneuver to spin the car and bring it to a stop. When caught, officers questioned her about not stopping when asked.
“I’m already on probation for ten years anyway,” Wray responded, according to reports.
Around 4 A.M., @FOXNashville captured this car being followed by nearly 20 @MNPDNashville cruisers on Jefferson Street.
Police confirm they’re tracking a woman driving a stolen vehicle, moving at just 8 mph with all four tires flattened.
