David Allsop, a Southwest Airlines pilot, was arrested moments before takeoff at a Georgia airport, USA, for showing up to work intoxicated.

Southwest Airlines pilot David Allsop, 52, was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol to get to work. He was arrested on Wednesday (15) just before the departure of a flight from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

“We are aware of an incident involving an employee on flight 3772 this morning, departing from Savannah. The employee was removed from duty,” explained the airline in a statement.

The flight, which was scheduled to depart at 7 a.m., left for its Chicago destination at 11 a.m., four hours after the scheduled time.

“Customers were accommodated on other flights, and we apologize for the disruption to their travel plans. Nothing is more important to Southwest than the safety of our employees and customers,” said a Southwest Airlines spokesperson.
