During a nearly two-hour SpiceJet flight, a passenger got trapped in the airplane bathroom and received an unusual note from the crew that went viral on social media.
The flight departed from Mumbai Airport to Bengaluru, India. According to a statement issued by the airline, the passenger went to the bathroom shortly after the seatbelt sign was turned off.
“Unfortunately, a passenger got stuck in the lavatory for about an hour,” said SpiceJet.
The crew couldn’t free the passenger, but a flight attendant slipped a note under the door to reassure the man during this agonizing moment.

“Sir, we tried our best to open the door, but we couldn’t,” the note read.
“Please don’t panic. We’ll be landing in a few minutes, so please close the toilet lid, sit on it, and hold on. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come to help you,” the flight attendant wrote to calm him down.
The man was freed as soon as the plane landed at the airport. He reported that he was injured due to the impact and that it took twenty minutes to get him out of the bathroom.
“SpiceJet regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger,” said the airline, which issued a full refund for the ticket.
