A shirtless man suspected of attempted murder stole a police car in Florida before approaching and stealing a woman’s vehicle, then crashing the car.

Armando Lopez, 52, suspected of attempted murder, stole a police car in Florida before taking a woman’s vehicle and crashing it before being arrested.

Lopez allegedly tried to kill his 30-year-old ex-girlfriend during an argument on December 22. The report says he threw her against a glass object, violently beat her, and attempted to strangle her with a cleaning cloth.

“My dad is at my house beating my mom to death,” said Lopez’s desperate daughter to the emergency service, according to an audio obtained by WPLG.

Lopez clashed with the authorities who responded to the call. The suspect tried to steal the officer’s weapon. The officer attempted to use a taser to prevent him from continuing his escape in the stolen police car.

“He is fleeing north. The lights are on. He tried to grab my gun from the holster,” the officer shouted in the video. Police dashcam footage shows the fugitive driving at 100 mph.

During the chase, Lopez approached a woman to steal her car, but he crashed the vehicle shortly afterward. He was trapped under the car when authorities arrived.

The suspect was arrested and is being held without bond on a variety of charges, including impersonating a police officer and fleeing law enforcement.
