
A video shows a Hawaiian Airlines plane aborting its takeoff after smoke was seen coming from the aircraft’s interior.
On Friday (11th), a Hawaiian Airlines plane was instructed to cancel its takeoff after experiencing an issue with its nose wheel. Smoke was seen coming from the underside of the aircraft.
The flight was scheduled to depart Los Angeles International Airport for Kahului Airport in Hawaii. The plane was set to take off at 8 a.m. but only departed at 11 a.m., arriving at its destination at 5:50 p.m. due to the incident.
The video captures air traffic controllers communicating with the pilots about the malfunction. The takeoff was “safely aborted.”
According to FOX Business, a spokesperson for Hawaiian Airlines stated there was a vibration issue with the nose wheel.
“The safety of our employees and passengers is our top priority, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience,” the airline declared.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident involving Hawaiian Airlines flight 33.
