Travelers who want to take their cars to their destinations without dealing with traffic jams on the roads can now opt for Amtrak’s Auto Train, which transports vehicles inside the trains.

The Auto Train is Amtrak’s service that transports passengers’ cars who wish to use their vehicles without getting stuck in traffic along the Virginia-Florida route in the USA.

In an interview with USA Today, Amtrak spokesperson Kimberly Woods explained that the Auto Train avoids the hassle of “driving more than 1,200 kilometers on I-95.” The service operates daily, departing from Lorton, Virginia, to Sanford, Florida.

It departs at 4:00 PM in both directions and arrives at 9:00 AM the next day, totaling 17 hours of travel. Check-in is from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for motorcycles and at 2:30 PM for other vehicles.

Passengers can choose between economy class and first class, which offers rooms of various sizes. First-class passengers enjoy priority boarding, as well as complimentary breakfast and dinner.

Economy class tickets on the Auto Train start at $95 per person, with vehicle charges of $155 for motorcycles, $225 for standard vehicles, and $255 for vehicles like minivans and trucks.
