The victim, identified as Diego Garcia, is a personal trainer who was heading to the mall to work at a gym inside the complex. Five hours after arriving, he was alerted by a colleague and a student that the wheels were missing.

“I parked on the second basement level as I usually do and went to give my classes. […] I went to the parking lot and when I arrived, my car was on top of bricks, without the wheels,” Garcia told the UOL news portal.

The personal trainer lives in a city 70 km away from his workplace and relied on his SUV for commuting. He had to use his spare tire and borrow an additional one.

“It was almost 10 p.m., and there was no way to buy a new tire. I borrowed a spare and managed to get back home. The next day, I bought a tire so I could keep driving,” he explained.

According to Diego, the shopping mall said it would cover the cost of the theft and provided new wheels.

“They still need to reimburse me for the tire I had to purchase and for the classes I missed dealing with the situation both on the day it happened and the following morning,” said the SUV owner.

Police have not yet arrested any suspects, and the case remains under investigation.
