An 18-year-old young mother, identified as Shania Green from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was tragically found dead at a house party, just a month after celebrating her birthday.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, when officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department were called to respond to a report of gunfire.

Upon arrival at the residence, the officers encountered an ongoing party. During the search of the house, they found Green lifeless at the back of the property, with a wound that appeared to be a gunshot to the head.
Green, who had turned 18 in November and was a mother to a 7-month-old boy, was enjoying a rare night out, as described by her aunt, Sade Long, in a GoFundMe campaign. Long launched the campaign to help cover the costs of Green’s funeral and burial.
In a heartfelt account on the GoFundMe page, Long described the events: “On December 29, 2023, like any new mother, Shania was excited to finally get out a little. During the night, while she was at a house party, multiple shots were fired from outside the house, striking Shania inside the residence and taking her life.” As of now, the police continue to search for the suspect in the crime.
Authorities have not yet identified a suspect and are appealing to the community for any information that can assist in the investigation of this horrific act that took the life of a young mother.
