Video shows over 20 drivers blocking a road to help save the frightened Chihuahua

A small Chihuahua caused confusion on a major highway in New York after escaping and running down the lane.
A video captured the moment when drivers frantically tried to catch the dog, named Bean, after spotting it running on the Staten Island Expressway on Tuesday night.
The now viral images show cars slowing down with flashing warning lights, before a driver stops and gives chase on foot.
“When I saw that dog, my instincts just kicked in, and the only thing on my mind was to make sure that dog got to safety,” said driver Katie Marie, whose camera captured the rescue mission, to the little dog.
“When I looked back, I saw over 20 cars all helping, which was extremely heartwarming to see how the inhabitants of Staten Islanders come together as a community on a busy highway to help a dog with an aimless fate.”
Driver Ella Wolskawoja ended up jumping out of her car to chase Bean on foot for some distance along the road, while it escaped from her hands.
Bean’s escape happily ended when driver Kaitlyn McGinley finally managed to grab him in a blanket and put him in a bag, amid applause.
Later photos showed Bean safely back home, reunited with owner Tammy Richardson, who told ABC that Bean escaped from her home after being frightened by another dog.
