Videos published on social media show a heavy hailstorm that knocked down trees and caused flooding in the Ottawa area in Canada on Friday afternoon.

Thousands of people were still without power on Friday night in Ottawa and Gatineau. The region was also briefly put under a tornado warning around 7 pm, but this was downgraded shortly after.
The Ottawa authorities said the storm left over 10,000 customers without power on Friday night as a result of the damage caused by the storm.


By 8 pm, there was no record of injuries or deaths in any of the cities.
