A An-24 plane in the Russian region of Yakutia, with 30 passengers and 4 crew members on board, landed not at the airport, but on the Kolyma River, according to the transport prosecutor’s office.

On board the “Polar Airlines” plane flying from Yakutsk were 30 passengers, including two children, and a crew of four. The crew and passengers emerged unharmed and were evacuated.
The likely cause of the incident was crew error; Rosaviatsiya classifies this as a serious aviation incident, and the Investigation Committee has initiated an inquiry.
The decision regarding the towing of the plane will be made later; preliminarily, it is reported to have no damages.
