The explosions occurred at an ammunition depot in the Volos region. A fire in the area reached the depot, causing a series of explosions that shattered nearby windows.
“Part of the ammunition depot of the air force base in Nea Anchialos is on fire and there was an explosion,” Yannis Artopios, a spokesman for the fire department told the local press.
