The officer approaches the driver, who was not identified, and pulls her out of the car as she tries to resist. The officer then slams her against the car before grabbing her by the hair and throwing her to the ground.
The woman resists arrest lying on the ground, and the officer holds her down with his knees as she tries to squirm, and he eventually manages to handcuff her as other officers arrive at the scene.
The Vallejo police said the incident started after a loss prevention agent waved to the officers and told them about a duo who had allegedly stolen merchandise from the shopping center. The officers were able to locate the suspects based on the description, but when they tried to arrest the driver, she is said to have resisted and fled.
The car chase lasted briefly as the suspects ran a red light and collided with two vehicles, including a cement truck and an SUV carrying a mother and her two four-year-old children, according to the police.
