One person was injured after a wind turbine blade fell off a truck and crashed into traffic on Interstate 70 in Maryland on the morning of Monday, June 30.
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) confirmed the incident to Fox News Digital.
According to SHA’s statement, the wind turbine blade was struck by another truck heading eastbound after it fell off the transport truck.
All westbound lanes of I-70 at the intersection with I-81 were blocked, as well as two eastbound lanes.
Images of the accident show the blade lying across the highway, disrupting traffic in both directions.
“Heavy-duty towing crews were able to reverse the truck after the guardrail was cut, and repositioned the trailer into the westbound lane,” the statement continued.
The injured person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
